What are you most excited for people to see this season? You just celebrated the season two premiere of Christina Milian Turned Up earlier this month. But when it all ends, it’s really about confidence. Do what makes you happy, whether it’s riding til the wheels fall off or whatever the case is. It’s not the end of the world if you get hurt because you can always keep moving forward. It’s okay to get hurt, it makes you stronger and better. I do believe in karma and I do believe in love. The message for them is: love hard, be strong, have fun. Is there a message you hope fans take away from 4U as far as relationships and vulnerability? And that’s exactly what I did, put everything I was going through on wax. Music is about vulnerability and realness and relationships, and people being able to relate to something. This way it tells a story and it’s the real me. It’s been a long time coming, especially being an independent artist, but it’s been exciting because each song has gotten the proper amount of love and each video means something to me. There are also four accompanying music videos too, all shot and ready to go. But at the end of the day, I put a pretty little package together for my fans and made it all about them. Technically, the guy I was dating, this project was for him. 4. It’s about womanhood and the relationship I was in this past year. I have a four-track EP titled 4U coming out Dec. So, what’s next for you in terms of music? Even for me as a designer now with my clothing line, We Are Pop Culture, it’s just a natural thing that comes to me. I’ve always been a creative kid I’ve always had a big imagination from birth so I was able to turn that into creativity. I don’t just sing and write songs I come up with visuals and ideas, too. You see it, you hear it, you dream it, you see it come to fruition. It’s all about putting your mind to something and making it happen - it’s like tenfold. You mentioned that your creative process is at an all time high, what all does that entail? You know, you want to do even more for your kid. I get that guilt like everything you do is not even enough. My creative process is at an all time high right now but just as a mom, if I’m not working I really just want to be around her. I try to balance have the work and family by bringing her to work with me when I can. It’s hard work, but the work I’m putting in for my career is for her. Sometimes I have an early call time in the morning for filming so I have to get Violet dressed early, bring her to my sister’s house or my sisters come early and help her get dressed for school. It’s a lot of juggling many different hats. Luckily for me, I have a nanny and my mom and my sisters and a lot of people who help. What’s your secret to balancing it all?Ĭhristina Milian: It’s a lot of work. VIBE Vixen: From singing/songwriting to holding down several TV gigs to being a mother, you embody the idea of a hyphenated professional. Here, we caught with her for a quick session of Vixen Chat to talk about motherhood, new music, relationships, and of course Christina Milian Turned Up season two. That’s not all Christina had to say though. “The basis is me taking control of my career, me starting my other businesses, and doing better things through my music, and then the turn up.” Milian, the show’s center, turns the camera to her fast paced life, shining a light on her latest music project, her loving relationship with daughter Violet, and her personal triumphs and upsets.
